Bye Bye 2017 & January

January is finally over! - Why does it feel like the month itself is an entire year? - Christmas is now fully in the past. But I have to say Christmas 2017 was probably the most excited I’ve been for Christmas since I was a little girl.

Homesickness was kicking in a little in the final week of uni and I was VERY excited to come home and see my family and old school friends…and to have a break from the constant smell from a shared halls kitchen.

My Mum and I took a trip to Buckland Abbey National trust to catch all the Christmas decor and honestly it's so cute - go check it out next Christmas if you're in the area!

Christmas parties with friends consisted of playing games, drinking many glasses of wine and eating roast dinners (the best kind of parties).

I think I ended up eating about three roast dinners in the space of a week! - #noregrets

For the actual Christmas period I went away with my family to Instow where we stayed at a holiday home for four days. We had some dog walks along the beaches and played many a game of scrabble.

My favourite part of Christmas for some reason is our little routine of opening up stockings in my parents room eating shortbread biscuits with a cuppa tea about 7am. And then watching the dogs opening a present- entertainment in its purest form.

I always find that Christmas is very commercialised and takes away the real point of Christmas of being with those whom you love. That's why I love that for my family we have £5 spending limit on presents for each person. It makes shopping far more easier as it reduces the pressure of having to find the prefect gift for everyone that's within a certain budget.

New years Eve was brilliant, It was just an average party but with all of my old school friends. It was such a wonderful evening. (Sounds so cringe).

Because of my course being 100% coursework, unlike everyone else who left home in early January to do exams, I stayed at home worked on my assignments and watched Friends on repeat all day everyday! Anyone else loving the fact it's on Netflix?

I came back to uni at the end of 2018 take 1 (January) and the last few days have been so busy! Catching up with uni friends and starting a new module, and complaining about the nonstop rain in Plymouth.

On a side note, on route to Plymouth we stopped of at Killerton National trust which is also worth checking out. (Loving my National trust membership at the mo!)

Here's to 2018 take 2.
