Many Highland cows and beaches (Scotland pt 3)

DAY FOUR

Applecross

rain rain rain. Scotland first thing Tuesday morning was wet. It thankfully cleared up a little on our way up to 'Bealch na Ba viewpoint' but as soon as we got to the top it was just cloud

When in Applecross the sun came out for long enough for us to have little walk along the water front before we carried on our journey

On route to our next stop I had one of the best 5 minuets of my life. I got up so close to highland cows. They were SO CHILL! they were just sat there on the side of the road happily letting us point and compliment them (aka chat utter rubbish). Now prepare yourself for a highland cow spam:

Gairloch

after a stop for a cuppa tea in Nanny Ogg's tea room we went to Gairloch front and tried to spot some otters but weren't lucky enough.

Corrieshalloch gorge

This has one of the worlds coolest bridges, it was so diddy and wobbley . It could only hold up to 6 people. It had a lovely view of the gorge and would've been awesome to see it earlier in the day with all the flowing rain water. Mum got the wobbles on the bridge after looking over to take a photograph and then when she saw 5 other people making their way onto the bridge she darted off incredibly quickly!

No.125

our accommodation is like a b&B /airb&B/ guesthouse type place so we were sort of staying in their house and living with them (http://www.125bb.com/). Upon arrival I made friends with the owners cat (a very cute lil ginger cat) which is unusual as they normally HATE me and set off my allergies.

From there we went out to grab some dinner and meet the bro.

He showed us the way to a really nice beach under the pretences of catching the sunset there but when we got there we realised the sunset further round the coast and we couldn't see it. The sky was still a lovely pink colour though and it was nice little beach.

DAY FIVE

Durness

In the morning we drove out to Durness and the first stop on the agenda was smoo cave. From the photos you can see just how awesome it is with the light coming through. They also do little boat trips and tours through it.

Afters we just went for a little strole along the surronding coastline

From that we needed warming with the WORLDS BEST HOT CHOCOLOATE (Cocoa mountain). It was AMAZING!

There was also great company from the cat who was basking in the sun and trying to get our attention. Maybe only Scottish cats like me?

Sandwood bay

adding our total walking distance for that day to 18.4 km we did a hike to one of the nicest beaches in Scotland. It was so remote and peaceful as no roads could get to it, just a 2 hour walk to reach it. Fabby

125

After a long day and eating a takeaway on the drive to our temporary home, we crashed on one bed and played a few rounds of Uno and Poohead before finding our own beds and sleeping almost instantly.

So I was going to do a post for each but this one has another 2 days worth of photos and jaffacaking/waffling to go so Imma break it up into another blog post and have 2 for Kinlochbervie (KLB as we now call it as it is easier to say!). Thanks for reading and hope to see you again on the blog very soon.
